Knowledge Evolution - Experience
System and Data Interoperability
Knowledge Evolution has provided business analysis, technology analysis, and software development to achieve integration of complex, stove-piped systems.
Customer:
New York University Medical Center
, Application: Data Broker
Knowledge Evolution designed and implemented a Data Broker integrating several internal and external databases. The broker was designed to be a general-purpose open-data system that can be deployed in other organizations to connect data sources and destinations. The broker achieves its generality by using a schema-less RDF database, and by making extensive use of Java reflection to support the addition of new sources and destinations through XML configuration files, with no additional Java coding required.
Customer:
Veterans Administration
(subcontract to
TopQuadrant, Inc.
), Application: Health Care Data Integration
We helped formulate a long-term solution vision for integration of medical record information at the Veterans Administration.
Customer:
U.S. Army
(subcontract to

), Application Health Care System Integration
We performed an object-oriented analysis of data interchange requirements for theater and base medical systems for the U.S. Army.
Customer:
National Institute of Standards and Technology
, Application: Manufacturing System Integration
We studied the applicability of semantic technology to manufacturing system integration. We developed a tool for translating an open-ended variety of process ontologies to/from the standard Process Specification Language (PSL).
Customer:
Interoperability Clearinghouse
, Application: System Composition Tool
We developed an architecture-modeling tool for large-scale composition of commercial (and other) software components. The tool enables system architects to evaluate alternative combinations of components with respect to performance, reliability, and conformance to standards.
